About the Studio

Will McCollum, Principal
Will McCollum is a licensed architect and founder of Anchor & Till Architecture and Urbanism LLC, an architecture and urban design practice dedicated to building walkable, authentic, and forward-looking communities built to last and to be loved. He began his career working under the design direction of Lew Oliver, where he guided the design of new traditional neighborhoods from concept through construction as a project manager. Some notable projects include Burton, Hartness, and Trilith, the last of which has been honored with a CNU Charter Award and recognized among the country’s leading residential communities with multiple NAHB and OBIE awards. During his time with Lew, he participated in and helped to lead nearly twenty multi-state design charrettes, working alongside designers, developers, municipalities, and communities to turn ambitious ideas into beautiful, marketable, and memorable places.

Beyond his professional practice, Will is co-founder and president of Citymakers Collective, a 501(c)(3) dedicated to teaching aspiring citymakers the holistic principles of designing resilient, beautiful, and prosperous places through an annual Summer Studio and workshops ranging from the cognitive science of the built environment to small-business economic development. He served on the board of CNU Atlanta, where he helped revitalize a dormant chapter as its vice president, and is currently serving on the board of CNU New England.

From early in life, he has maintained a persistent obsession with exploring the quiet alleys, bustling centers, and forgotten corners of new places, building a deep respect for the evolving architectural traditions that distinguish each community. He translates the lessons from these travels into charming and practical designs rooted in the character of place.
